The Baton Rouge Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting is affiliated with the Diocese of Baton Rouge serving the Istrouma Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts Louisiana East. The Committee is dedicated to promoting “Duty to God” at each level of Scouting. We are affiliated with the National Catholic Committee on Scouting® (NCCS), an advisory to the Boy Scouts of America, National Catholic Committee on Girl Scouts and Camp Fire (NFCYM), and Region 5 of the NCCS and National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM).
Each year the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting holds several events to promote Catholic Scouting. These events include a Boy Scout Religious Encounter, Scouter Development, Religious Emblems Counselor Training, and a Youth Religious Emblem and Adult Recognition Ceremony with the Bishop. We are able to accomplish these events, because of the many dedicated leaders that donate their time and energy to providing a quality program.
